U.S. Water Employee Receives Operator of the Year Award

U.S. Water Employee Receives Award

U.S. Water had a notable presence at the 2024 Florida Rural Water Association (FRWA) Annual Conference, held from July 29 to July 31 at the Hilton Daytona Beach. This event brought together water professionals from across the state to discuss the latest advancements and share best practices in the industry.

One of the standout moments for our team was when Scott Hersey, an operator at our Nassau County Utilities Amelia Island site, was honored with the prestigious Operator of the Year award. This accolade recognizes Scott’s dedicated and outstanding contributions in 2024. His commitment to excellence and tireless work have set a high standard in the field, and we are incredibly proud of his achievements.

In addition to Scott’s award, our golf team demonstrated their skills and sportsmanship by securing first place in the conference’s golf tournament. In a generous gesture, all the winnings were donated back to the FRWA, supporting their scholarship program aimed at fostering the next generation of water professionals.

U.S. Water also played a role in the water sampling competition, where our employees participated as judges to determine the best tasting water from various utilities statewide.

As a platinum sponsor of the event, U.S. Water was committed to supporting the FRWA and the broader water community. Dennis Muldoon, one of our expert employees, delivered an insightful training session on wastewater biological nutrient removal. His session was well-received, providing valuable knowledge to attendees and reinforcing our leadership in wastewater treatment. U.S. Water also had a booth at the event to showcase our services and innovative solutions. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about our latest technologies, discuss their specific needs with our knowledgeable team, and explore how U.S. Water can help them achieve their operational goals.

The 2024 FRWA Annual Conference was a tremendous success for U.S. Water. From Scott Hersey’s well-deserved recognition to our golf team’s victory and our contributions as judges and trainers, our team demonstrated our dedication to excellence in the water industry. We look forward to continuing our support for the FRWA and contributing to the advancement of water treatment and management in Florida.
