Meet Industrial Maintenance Manager, Steven Morse

Steven Morse, a newly hired Maintenance Manager in U.S. Water’s Industrial Group, brings a diverse and accomplished background to the team. His career journey began as a plant manager at a coal tar refinery, where he was introduced to wastewater treatment processes. Captivated by the “bug farm” — the biological organisms used to clean wastewater — Steve developed a fascination with the science and mechanics of water treatment.

Steve’s next step took him into the world of ready-mix concrete manufacturing, where he managed plants and discovered the critical role water treatment plays in controlling chemical reactions essential to concrete production. From there, he transitioned into municipal wastewater systems, managing treatment processes for sanitary sewer systems. This phase of his career deepened his understanding of the complexities of handling household wastewater and ensuring its safe return to the environment.

When the opportunity arose to join U.S. Water, Steve saw it as the perfect place to apply his expertise and tackle some of the industry’s most complex challenges. Now at U.S. Water, Steve is tackling one of the most challenging aspects of wastewater treatment: landfill leachate. This unique area demands ingenuity, advanced technologies, and innovative solutions. The complexity and significance of this challenge were key reasons Steve was drawn to U.S. Water, recognizing it as a leader in addressing such critical issues. As part of U.S. Water’s Industrial Group, Steve is contributing to cutting-edge advancements that are shaping the future of the industry.
