U.S. Water Awarded Contract Nassau Amelia Utilities, FL
This multi-year project will provide water and sewer utilities to the American Beach community.
We are excited to announce that Nassau Amelia Utilities selected U.S. Water for a multi-year project that will phase out septic tanks and extend public utilities to the community of American Beach. Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2022.
“We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with Nassau Amelia Utilities and breaking ground on this unique project,” said Chris Saliba, U.S. Water Vice President of Operations and Maintenance. “The Septic Tank Phase Out Project will not only provide quality utility services to American Beach residents, but it will also eliminate the use of aging septic tanks that pose a risk to the local environment.”
U.S. Water is currently in the early project stages of procuring materials, Right of Way permits, and relocating thirty-five gopher turtles. An official groundbreaking is scheduled for August 31, 2022, with an anticipated project completion of January 2024.
The American Beach Septic Tank Phase Out Project will provide water and sewer utilities to the American Beach community. The project will be part of the Nassau Amelia Utilities service area that is currently maintained by U.S. Water Services. The project consists of installing 2-1/2 miles of new sanitary sewer and water mains, 2 sewer lift stations, 52 manholes, 7 fire hydrants, and 8 automatic flushing devices. The construction phase cost of the project is $7,831,538.00 with the funding coming from grants to assist with the construction costs including FDEP State Revolving Funds clean water and drinking water loans. U.S. Water was awarded the contract and is currently in the early stages of procuring materials, Right of Way permits, and relocating 35 gopher turtles before beginning the project. Official groundbreaking for the project is scheduled for August 31, 2022, with construction to start October 2022 with an anticipated completion of January 2024.
